    COUNCILLOR VACANCIES

     

    Brinton and Sharrington Parish Council have vacancies for three Parish Councillor’s, which can now be filled by co-option.

    Do you care about the community and are you willing to take an active part? Are you interested in becoming involved in local decision making and helping to shape the future of Brinton and Sharrington Parishes? Do you have the skills necessary to become a good Parish Councillor – good communication skills, problem solving, analytical thinking and being a team player?

    Brinton and Sharrington Parish Council meets once every two months and the meetings are held in Sharrington Village Hall.

    Applicants are asked to apply in writing, setting out why you wish to be considered for the vacancy along with any qualities or experience you have which would benefit Brinton and Sharrington Parish Council. You will be asked to attend the next meeting to give a short presentation.

    Eligibility criteria to be a Councillor

    To be eligible for co-option as a Brinton and Sharrington Parish Councillor you must be a British subject, or a citizen of the Commonwealth, or the European Union and you must also be 18 years of age or over, and you must additionally meet one of the criteria set out below.

     

    1. a) be registered as a local government elector for the parish; or
    2. b) you have, during the whole of the twelve months preceding the date of co-option, occupied as owner or tenant, land or other premises in the parish; or
    3. c) your principal or only place of work during those twelve months has been within the parish;

    or

    d) you have, during the whole twelve months, lived in the parish, or within 3 miles of it
